Peter Kaspar has more than 40 years of experience in the Diagnostics and the Life Science industry. He founded Magellan bioConsult in 2011, after his retirement from bioMérieux‘ Executive Committee as Head of the Microbiology Unit and Head of Global R&D.

His vast network and in-depth knowledge of the industry stems from multiple leadership positions in Business, Strategy, Corporate Development and R&D Management.

He spent a significant part of his career with Roche Diagnostics (formerly Boehringer Mannheim GmbH) in Europe, Latin-America and the US.

His complementary experience in the non-profit sector originates from his former role as Chief Officer of Technology and Business Development at FIND (a Geneva based non-profit organization supporting the development of diagnostics for diseases of poverty) and his former work in South America, where he established a development and manufacturing center for tropical disease diagnostics.

He is on the board of several biotech companies in the US and Europe, and served as member of the Board of Directors of the Analytical and Life Science Systems Association (ALSSA, now ALDA).

Peter Kaspar obtained his training in Biochemistry and Medicine at the universities of Muenster, Berlin (Germany), and Lille (France) and holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry.
